NewGround is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Executive to lead our project team of design, interiors, and construction professionals through all phases of the project, from initiation to closure in the Denver area.

Position Overview: This role requires a seasoned professional with exceptional servant leadership abilities, experience in both design and construction management, and a proven record of leading project teams in the delivery of complex multi-project programs through the entire design and build process to ensure seamless project delivery and client satisfaction.

As the Client’s advocate and primary point of contact, the Project Executive will be the external face of NewGround ensuring the desired scope, budget, and schedule is met.

Internally, the Project Executive leads the project team, directs external consultants, and fosters development and advancement of the project delivery process. The Project Executive is responsible for project performance in terms of profit, quality, and client satisfaction. This is a leadership position that requires a strategic mindset as well as the ability to guide and mentor team members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for multi-project design and construction programs, ensuring alignment with client expectations, company goals, and objectives.

• Lead the project management team in developing and implementing project strategies, plans, and objectives to achieve successful project outcomes.

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to foster collaboration and partnership, while identifying and leveraging opportunities as they present themselves.

• Lead the project design team through the design process, including property acquisition, site development, conceptual design, design development, and construction documentation, to ensure compliance with project requirements and specifications.

• Lead the construction team through the phases of preconstruction and construction management activities, including procurement, scheduling, budgeting, contractor coordination, and quality control, to ensure projects are finished on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

• Develop and update CPM schedules for single projects and master project schedules for multi-project programs to meet or exceed client expectations, key project milestones, and projected delivery dates.

• Ability to proactively identify and assess risks and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.

• Provide guidance and support to project team members, offering mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to foster growth and excellence.

• Collaborate with internal departments, including design, estimating, preconstruction, procurement, and finance, to ensure seamless project execution and resource allocation.

• Champion innovation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes, systems, and methodologies.

• Proficient in the use of project management technology and reporting tools to develop and implement program execution. Working knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, MS Teams, Procore, and Acumatica financial platform (or similar project management software) is critical.

• Working knowledge and experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and other design software platforms is a plus.

• Must be a strong conflict manager with a firm and assertive approach that projects a cheerful outlook towards all project team members.

• Ability to travel 30-50% required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field, preferred.

• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in design and construction project management or as an owner’s representative, with a proven history of successfully delivering complex projects from inception to completion.

• Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager, Senior Construction Manager or similar managerial position is preferable.

• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellence and exceed performance expectations.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and people skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.

• Solid understanding of design principles, construction management practices, and industry trends.

• Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, Procore, Teams, Autodesk Revit).

• Demonstrated business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities.

• Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or AIA (American Institute of Architects) are a plus.
